NEON-SIGN9

VOU

A neon sign is both a symbol of a place and its community, existing to integrate the life of both people and culture. In the ascendancy and evolution of electrical signage, the lights of such craftsmen are rapidly becoming extinct. I confront these signboards photographing them as honestly as possible. This is my homage to neon's rise and gradual fall within the context of commercial art. Once through that process of photography, the semantics and relationship of meaning change their original purpose. An essence of neon craftwork as anonymous artwork revives in the dark.
