Kyoji Takahashi
Void
In this solo exhibition, "Void," Takahashi will present new works with a Leica M8, he captures a private view within his own room. The output settings of the printer were adjusted manually by himself, and the photographs that printed on Arches paper were appeared in different way from the RAW data. The daily objects captured faintly but clearly are burned onto the paper with a color balance that is slightly out of the proper. In this new series, Takahashi's spirit is quietly tense, standing in a place just before becoming too far removed from reality. In his solo exhibition last September, we called the images that shift from one place to another such as the world, Takahashi's eyes, camera, film, and photographs “Ghost” in photography. Photography is a medium of seance. Perhaps the new work is a hole. The deep hole in Takahashi's mind swallows many things from reality and takes them away. The photographs are like empty shells left behind by things that have fallen apart in the void.
