Somewhere not here / fragments of kyoto

At dawn, in the daytime, I wander around the streets of Kyoto and take photographs. The subject is a fragment of a landscape that can be found anywhere, not "Kyoto-ness".This work, which began in the spring of 2020, is creating a unique relationship between me and photography through the blue light of dawn and the accumulation of unexpected coincidences. The greatness of photography lies in capturing meaningless things without meaning. The scenery in front of me does not exist to be photographed, nor is it simple enough to draw any conclusions. However, in the "quantity" of the photographs that I have taken repeatedly, I feel that after throwing away easy words, I have come to see a world of "nothingness" that only the surface and mass of things show. I have always want to see the transience of landscapes, the fragility of the human heart, and the 'universality' that lurks behind these eternally imperfect shapes.
