KG+ Goes to Festival OFF Arles

2026.6.19 News

KG+ began in 2013 as a satellite event of KYOTOGRAPHIE International Photography Festival, held each spring in Kyoto. Staged at venues throughout the city, it presents a wide range of photographic practices by emerging artists and curators, bringing them into contact with audiences and professionals from Japan and abroad.

This exhibition features five Japanese photographers selected from among the artists who participated in KG+. Although their works address different subjects, including the city, nature, memory, the body, and the environment, each reconsiders our relationship with the world around us through photography.

In varied and engaging ways, the works of these five artists turn their attention to the environments that surround us and at the people who live within them. We invite you to explore some of the myriad perspectives presented by Japanese photography today.
