Urban Paradise - neither inside nor outside

Contemporary cities appear orderly and homogenized.
Buildings are meticulously constructed, public spaces are carefully managed, and chance or fluctuation is quietly eliminated. Yet beneath this surface, traces of daily life, human habits, and unconscious behaviors linger, allowing subtle presences and expressions to seep into urban space. These remnants—quiet expressions and fragments of individuality left behind in the pursuit of refinement and efficiency—give depth and variations of temperature to the city, revealing small distances and gaps seemingly left behind by urban order.

Within these gaps and misalignments, sharp edges emerge more distinctly as the city becomes increasingly regulated, appearing as faint discomforts or dissonance. This series seeks to gather the minute presences embedded in everyday life and the gradually fading human warmth, illuminating the lingering humanity hidden within urban spaces. By shedding light on unconscious habits and traces of thought that seem forgotten in an increasingly organized urban environment, the work discovers uncertainty, fluctuation, and subtle otherness concealed within the city’s interstices.

These quiet presences accentuate the softness and wavering individuality of humanity behind the orderly surface. Amid accelerating urbanization, such delicate traces become precious reflections of memory and lived warmth. A city is not merely a function, but is shaped with depth through the layered memories and lives of its people. Within it, the accumulated vibrations of time and the murmurs of daily life generate subtle rhythms that gently stir the air of the city.
