Himiko Chapuis
AIDA
In Japanese AIDA means ‘the in-between’ zone. AIDA investigates the mixed identities of young women through the prism of the second generation. AIDA is also a plural entity, a symbolic heroine of many faces.
Graduated from Penninghen in 2025 with a degree in art direction, Himiko Chapuis explores the medium of photography through variations in scale, visual games and unexpected combinations where formal and conceptual shifts illustrate, through humour and derision, the contrasts at work in mixed heritage, a subject that fits into the theme of ‘Our Environments’ at Kyotographie 2026.
