EZO - The Silent Beauty of Japan
Hokkaido’s vast landscapes and untamed wildlife are the foundation of my creative journey. Through EZO, I seek to reflect on the delicate interplay of light and shadow in nature. The works capture moments of stillness and introspection, expressing the unique allure of Hokkaido’s natural beauty. Additionally, with support from Awagami Factory in Tokushima, the works are printed on traditional Japanese washi paper. The distinctive texture and depth of the washi paper add an extra layer of richness and dimension to the artwork. This exhibition marks the first time my work will be showcased outside of Hokkaido, and I have chosen Kyoto in spring as the venue. By juxtaposing the serene winter landscapes of the north with Kyoto’s seasonal vibrancy, I hope to convey the diversity and timeless beauty of Japan’s natural heritage. I wish for these works to resonate with viewers, inspiring a deeper connection to the natural world that continues to move and inspire us all.
