Midori Mitamura

Midori Mitamura, who began her artistic career in the 1990s, creates immersive spatial artworks that capture the ambiguity and shifting meanings of fleeting everyday moments, often drawing from her own family and personal photographs. Since the 2000s, she has engaged in residency-based art projects worldwide, using entire spaces to explore the "Scenery" that emerges from the accumulation of small experiences.
For this exhibition, Mitamura spent a month in Nishijin, conducting research and creating new works. She will present an installation in a former textile workshop, intertwining images from Nishijin’s everyday landscape with fragments of memories embedded in the space.

Since her stay in Stockholm in 2006, Mitsutoshi Mitamura has held this communication-based event in various parts of the world. By sharing a breakfast table, she creates a relaxed space for dialogue, bridging the gap between people and art.
