KHA Kansai Hairdressing Awards Exhibition

Kansai Hairdressing Awards Exhibition

The Kansai Hairdressing Awards (KHA), established in 1995, is a photographic contest created to foster the creativity and technical development of hairstylists in the Kansai region. In its early years, KHA served as a stepping stone to the prestigious Japan Hairdressing Awards (JHA), an event long dominated by Tokyo-based stylists. For many hairstylists in Kansai, KHA became an arena for refining their craft and challenging their creative boundaries. Each submission to KHA is a passionate collaboration—a fusion of artistry involving hairstylists, photographers, makeup artists, wardrobe stylists, and models. These works tell stories of creativity, innovation, and ambition, capturing the essence of artistic challenge. Over the past three decades, KHA has grown into a vital community, drawing hairstylists from all corners of Japan, transcending regional boundaries and fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas. As KHA continues to evolve, it remains a platform where hairstylists, united by a shared love for hair design, can connect, inspire, and showcase their talents. The expressions emerging from this space hold the power to shape the future of the beauty industry, creating new pathways for creativity and innovation.
