Starry sky over Amami ~ Wish upon a star ~
Amami is a humid island with the least amount of sunshine in the country. A biodiversity-rich island registered as a World Natural Heritage Site. Masahiro Araki says that another world heritage site in Amami, which has a lunar calendar culture, is the starry sky. Why did he stay in Amami instead of going elsewhere, even though there were few sunny days? "The starry sky that can be seen for a moment. The path of the moon. The starry sky covered in clouds. The galaxy that can be seen. We are in a galaxy" he says. He has started a project to preserve Amami's starry skies as photo stories. Panoramic photography with a viewing angle of approximately 300 degrees is used to express the starry sky of Amami. The Milky Way has not only summer but also winter. He will decorate the venue with Amami's starry sky. What do you wish upon a star?
