Re-membering the Temporal Fragments
Treating photography (light) and waste materials (matter) as equivalents, this work attempts to present regeneration not simply as an ecological theme, but as a reorganization of memory, a reconstruction of landscape, and a cyclical form of existence. By recomposing what would normally be discarded as "garbage" -- wood offcuts from landscaping, pruned branches, and pottery shards washed up on Tokoname's coast -- into photographic works, the artist visualizes layers of time, place, and memory.
While photography typically serves as a form of "record," here the material itself becomes the recording medium, and traces left by the sea, wind, soil, and human actions emerge as strata that transcend the photographic frame. As a result, the work is regenerated as a collective archive of the landscape, confronting viewers with the question, "What is lost and what is returning?"
