Karimoku Commons Kyoto, in collaboration with KG+, is pleased to present "Commons Lounge — Wood, Browsing, Photography." For this exhibition, we are hosting six artists whose work resonates deeply with our philosophy, curated from the KG+ 2026 program. In harmony with the distinct atmosphere of each floor, a diverse array of photographic works vividly colors the space. Alongside the works on display, the venue will feature a selection of photobooks available for both browsing and purchase. In this lounge-like setting surrounded by photography and books, visitors are invited to settle into the furniture, flip through the pages, and immerse themselves in the artists' worlds. In addition, several related events, including talk sessions, will be held, offering multifaceted insights into the artists' perspectives. Furthermore, we have co-developed original frames specifically for this exhibition, reflecting the unique photographic gaze and expertise of KG+. Crafted from the same wood as the furniture, these frames harmonize aesthetic beauty with the functional requirements of artwork protection and storage. Designed for versatility, these frames offer three display options: wall-mounted, free-standing, or on a dedicated stand. Through flexible arrangements tailored to any setting, we offer a new perspective of "living with art" within contemporary spaces. Photography, furniture, and the original frames that bridge them—we invite you to experience this unique intersection at the venue.
