洛北KIDS PHOTO LAB

Rakuhoku KIDS PHOTO LAB

Within the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden lies the tranquil primeval forest of Nakaragi no Mori, where the original vegetation of the Kyoto Basin still thrives. Nestled within this forest stands the Nakaragi Shrine, an auxiliary shrine of the World Heritage site Kamigamo Shrine. Its present name is said to derive from its former designation as Nagaregi Shrine, where sacred driftwood from the upper reaches of the Nishikamo River was enshrined. This exhibition presents works by children from the “Rakuhoku KIDS PHOTO LAB”, born from workshops at Kamigamo Shrine, displayed at the historically connected Nakaragi Shrine. The subject, Kamigamo Shrine, and the exhibition site, Nakaragi Shrine. These two sacred sites are linked through the axes of history, culture, and nature, rediscovering the region's charm through the eyes of the next generation.
