Breathing in Bloom
The exhibition " Breathing in Bloom " explores the ambiguity, beauty, and emotional fluctuations hidden within daily life and inner states through photography, installations, and multimedia works. As suggested by the title, it celebrates the natural beauty of blooming as it is and emphasizes the importance of returning to one’s innate senses. The venue, a traditional Japanese room (washitsu), creates a unique atmosphere with its natural materials and soft light, embodying the Japanese aesthetic philosophy of "Wabi-Sabi." This philosophy highlights the quiet beauty found in imperfection, offering viewers a space for deep introspection. Kagi Shu’s works are inspired by dreams and memories, exploring themes such as emotional recovery after disasters and the liminal space between dreams and reality. Meanwhile, Kiki Chan captures the subtle beauty of daily life through themes of ambiguous light, drifting sensations, and hidden blue tones, revealing the overlooked delicacy of the everyday. Through six carefully curated works, this exhibition provides viewers with an opportunity to rediscover beauty and senses buried within their daily lives, while offering a moment to reflect and reconnect with themselves.
