kasane #flowers

Sometimes we gaze from a distance, sometimes we view up close. Everything can be viewed from many different perspectives. Suppose we were to view a single phenomenon from multiple angles, then combine those individual views into one unified impression. What kind of visual world would emerge? If we gather up things that are beautiful and aggregate them into one, do they stay beautiful? What sort of beauty emerges when flowers, the motif of this work, are layered on top of each other? Or does no beauty emerge at all? Flowers wear an infinite range of expressions. They’re a lot like people that way. A multitude of feelings lie piled on top of each other in flowers. Feelings such as love, yearning, madness, resentment. An unfocused jumble of confusion, like life itself.
