Skin of the earth
The impact of the behavioral restraint due to the 2020 pandemic extended to five senses. It not only takes away the relationship with people, but also the opportunity to contact the natural world. Then all realities have changed into the world in the screen. And while this world through the screen is boring, it is strangely comfortable. So Kaisato is worried that this abnormality will become a new reality in everyday life. This series focused on especially “touching” and tried to consider people’s senses. She thought “skin” was symbolic of “tactile feeling” and made it a title. This exhibition is presented in three parts and tries to remind us of humidity and texture feel, for example, water surface, chilly air, thirty rock face and wet trees. The refraction of light that hits the material and passes through makes us feel the depth as a layer. And it shows the present ambiguity and wandering mood on the way from the past to the future.
