Opening Live Performance: Ima Tenko(Butoh Dancer)×Morita Yuri(Photographer)
GALLERY GARAGE

In front of a large-scale work measuring 7 m × 2 m, in which human silhouettes have been softly imprinted onto fabric through exposure to sunlight, a live Butoh performance by dancer Ima Tsurara takes place. Stillness and movement, light and shadow. The living body and the traces of human presence remaining within the artwork emerge in the same space, forming a structure in which photography and dance intersect. Between the body and shadow that exist in the “here and now” and the layers of time inscribed in the fabric, the viewer experiences the overlapping of these elements. Through this experience, the work invites reflection on the nature of bodily presence and memory, and on the boundary between the visible and the invisible, aiming to create a moment in which one is briefly released from the concepts and sense of time that unconsciously bind us.
